We are lucky enough to have an exhibtition of Vivian Maiers photography on our doorstep. We really do reccomend after visiting us in our London shop that you go down to Picadilly and have a look around the Beetles + Huxley gallery where Vivian Maiers' work is being shown, you won't regret it!
Vivian Maier's a street photographer who wasn't discovered until boxes of over 100,000 negatvies were found at an auction 2 years before her death. A documentary was written by John Maloof and Charlie Siskel about her career as a nanny and her passion for photography.
Consistently taking photos over the course of five decades a great collection of images from New York to Vietnam were found. Maloof worked hard to make her work known and now critics and galleries have now acknowledged Maier’s work, and The New York Times recognized her as “one of America’s more insightful street photographers.”
